For the indoor component of "Resilient Concerns," select texts from the outdoor flags were scanned.
These texts were then output in black and gold vinyl and installed in the University Art Museum, located adjacent to the outdoor installation which featured the flags.
The project invited participants to anonymously craft handwritten responses to simple conceptual prompts: "I'm concerned..." and "I'm resilient...".
The handwriting suggests intimacy and individuality. Handwriting can also be conceived as the drawn word, and a visual language that is quickly disappearing from our daily lives as digital communication proliferates.
