"Text Messaging: 1,000 Points of Might," was a large, text-based installation created for the 2008 California Biennial. The piece was installed in front of the Orange County Museum of Art from October 2008 - March 2009.

I invited students at three different colleges in Southern California to respond anonymously to a series of prompts. I asked people things like, "Use 'play' in a sentence" or complete the sentence, "____is difficult for me".

I chose 37 different responses from the hundreds of submissions. I then created yard signs to reference campaign and real estate signage, cottage industry advertisements, cell phone text messaging and viral e-mails.

Special thanks to the students of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Professor Reina Prado and the students of California State University Los Angeles, and Professor Christopher N. Ferreria and the students of Southwestern College in Chula Vista.
